Gray Buster

Gray Buster (Japanese: 砕氷塵グレイ·バスタ―, Kanji translation: Crush Ice Dust, Romaji: gurei basutā) is a water shamanistic spell with a variety of uses.

The spell lowers temperature in the target area by freezing moisture in the air. The small ice shards glitter like diamond dust, producing a beautiful effect. For obvious reasons, the spell can be quite lethal against those present in the area, but Gray Buster has less aggressive uses as well: A weaker variation of this spell can function as an air conditioner. This is one of the first spells sorcerer pupils learn to use, in order to cool down the classroom.

Trivia

• In one of the earlier Slayers Special novels, Lina mentions in passing an unnamed cold spell, one of the first to be taught to students in the Sorcerer's Guild, that helps them reduce body temperature to bear the summer heat, that she herself casts on her cape. It's not known if Gray Buster and this unnamed spell are the same or not.
