Water Dragon Summoning (Japanese: 水の竜, Kanji translation: Water Dragon, Romaji: mizu no ryū)[1] is, apparently, a water shamanistic summoning spell. This is not the actual name of the incantation, merely its function, as its Power Words are unknown.
The spell calls forth a dragon entirely made of water. Its material is actually derived from the water itself, so it can be assumed that sufficient amount of water must be available nearby for the spell to function. It seems that the dragon is controlled directly by the movements of the caster instead of verbal commands, as seen in Slayers: The Motion Picture when Julianne Jubibieno summons one.
Trivia[]
- In the 3rd volume of the Slayers Special manga, Naga the Serpent conjures up a water dragon, but she's incapable of controlling it and turns against her. This is based on a previous Slayers Special novel story, where Naga summons not a water dragon, but a plasma dragon instead. This may mean that the water dragon that appears in the manga is not really made of water, but it might mean "a dragon that lives in the water" (as a sea dragon or a lake dragon).
